This space was born out of a heartfelt prayer:

 

"Holy Spirit, show me how to parent!"

​

I am mum of 3 and step-mum of 1. As a parent, I have not tried it all, but I have tried a lot. Without realising it, I often relied on my own strength and wisdom, even when applying Biblical principles. I spent years fighting fire after fire, reacting to challenges as they arose. Deep down, I knew there had to be more to parenting than keeping chaos at bay.

I wanted to parent in a way that avoided the avoidable struggles and prepared us for the rest. Whilst not seeking perfection, I did not want what I did not know to cause me to parent in ways that negatively impacted my precious children. Instead, I longed for a parenting strategy that worked for the different ages, stages and personalities of my children, and caused them to walk in God's plan and purpose for their lives. I wanted only God's wisdom and truth on parenting.

In His kindness, the Holy Spirit began to answer my cry through the letters in the word ‘parent’. ​​These principles have changed everything for me, and I believe they can do the same for you. I realised that the key to success in parenting was to allow God to work on me. That's what makes The PARENT Principles different. 

 

Now, I want to empower Christian parents and guardians to thrive as people so they can thrive as parents by focusing on six core principles encapsulated in the acronym PARENT:

• Nourish and Nurture

• Togetherness
